The weaving workshop
Created in the XIXth century, the workshop is of great historical interest because it is the last power weaving workshop remaining in the Croix Rousse area.
Its untouched internal architecture is representative of the thousands of family workshops which covered the Croix Rousse area during the XIXth century. The 65m2 of this living and working space consists of a kitchen, a mezzanine, the looms, and a machine, which makes bobbins.
Weaving demonstrations on a hand-loom dating from the XIXth century and also on power looms (electric) and provided with Verdol mechanisms dating from 1950. These looms were used until 1990.
