Groups of adults : visit weaving workshops
Soierie Vivante invites you to discover the very last remaining
family-run weaving workshops. Until the end of the 20th century, the
majority of weaving in Lyon was done in the home. Discover the
buildings where the "canuts" lived and worked.
See the looms at work before you… An expert guide will provide you
with a wealth of knowledge in weaving and the genius of Jacquard’s
invention.

When ?
From Tuesday afternoon, to Saturday (9am-noon/ 2pm-6.30pm), by
appointment.
Visits outside this time schedule depend on the availability of
volunteers- higher price)
How ?
Parties over 30 are split into smaller groups, to enable us to
move between the 2 workshops.
If your group wants to visit just one workshop, or if your group
contains more than 60 people, there may be a thirty minute
waiting period.
The visit lasts approximately half an hour for each workshop,
with a ten minute walk between rue Godart and rue Richan.
We recommend you set aside an hour and twenty minutes for the
whole visit.
Visits can be done in foreign
languages: English, German, Italian (don’t forget to
ask!)
